PERRY, Fla. (WCTV) – A North Carolina man is facing theft charges after allegedly defrauding a bank in Perry, Florida.
Keith Sanders, 46, is charged with one count of grand theft and one count of scheme to defraud a financial institution, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
FDLE said the investigation started in Nov. 2025 when the Perry Police Department notified them that Sanders had falsified a loan application with Blue Coast Federal Credit Union.
That allegedly fraudulent loan application was for more than $198,000. Sanders later defaulted on the loan.

Investigators found that while applying for the loan, Sanders falsely claimed he lived in Panama City and worked in Tallahassee. He also provided the credit union with a title for a boat that does not exist, according to FDLE.
Sanders turned himself in at the Taylor County Jail on Feb. 23.
